A former governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC in Kwara State, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir has donated N30 million health fund to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups with health challenges especially now the World is fighting COVID-19.
The philanthropist made this known to Journalists in Ilorin after touring some selected hospitals in the metropolis.
Gobir said; ”the fund is earmarked for residents of the State especially those that are vulnerable and the disadvantaged groups in the State.”
Alhaji Gobir who is a Social Entrepreneur said five hospitals in the state have been identified for the implementation of the first phase of the scheme.
They include General Hospital Ilorin, Sobi Specialist Hospital, Unilorin Teaching Hospital, Kwara Civil Service Hospital and Centre Igboro Children Specialist Hospital, Ilorin.
Gobir commended the efforts of the various health workers in the State for sacrificing their time, and risking their lives to protect us all.
Gobir also commended the efforts of the National Center for Diseases Control (NCDC) for taking decisive actions to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
He urged all well meaning Nigerians to support the efforts of the Government in fighting the disease.
