President Muhammadu Buhari has praised Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, for donating N200 million to help in the fight against the influx of Covid-19 into the country.
This, he made known through Femi Adesina, his spokesperson.
Recall Naija Mode earlier reported that the foundation of the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has promised to give out a whooping sum of N200million to support the current effort of the Nigerian government towards curbing the spread of Corona Virus or Covid-19 in the country.
Reacting, Buhari recalled that Dangote had in the past through his foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation, donated N1 billion to tackle Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Africa.
The president praised such public-spiritedness and encouraged other well-to-do individuals and groups to follow suit.
According to President Buhari, “Hand in hand, standing shoulder to shoulder, we can confront our challenges as a country. This is a path for us all to follow as people.”
President Buhari further warned that Nigerians should take necessary hygiene precautions, rather than panic about the Covid-19, after the discovery of the index case in the country last week.
