The Federal Government has approved N71 million and constituted an inter ministerial/Multisectoral preparedness and response committee for Corona virus.
At a meeting in Abuja, the committee was mandated to review the national strategies and come up with a rapid response.

On preventive measures, Dr Ehanire advised citizens to always cough into their elbows especially in crowded areas and avoid close contacts with persons with respiratory illness.
He also called on travelers coming into the country to stay home for at least 2 weeks before integrating themselves back into their various communities.
The minister noted that states which host international airports such as Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Rivers and the FCT have been equipped to detect temperatures and visual examination of passengers.
On awareness and enlightenment campaigns, the Minister of Information and culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said public advocacy would be a vocal tool in preventing the outbreak of the virus
At the end of the meeting, the committee is to develop a workable action plan to aid the Federal government in preventing the Corona virus from being transported into the country.
