NDLEA bursts 10.5 tons of illicit drugs in Maiduguri

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Bornu State Command has uncovered 10,522 kilograms of compressed Cannabis sativa also known as “weed” concealed in a warehouse in Maiduguri, the State Capital.

A statement by the agency says one of the suspects was also arrested in connection with the drugs.

It describes the discovery of the illicit drugs, which was contained in one hundred and eighty-three giant size bags as the single largest seizure within the North Eastern States.

The statement explains that the warehouse, located at the Unguwan Doki, adjacent Borno State Environmental Protection Agency, consisted of a three-bedroom and three-room boys quarters.

 The illicit weed which was contained in 183 giants’ bags is the single largest seizure within the North Eastern States.
