Prince Harry and Meghan could earn £85k per Instagram post

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could earn over £85,000 per post as part of their bid to become financially independent, boasting twice the earning power of Prince William and Kate Middleton, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who will officially complete their final official duties next month before stepping down as senior royals, could make a lucrative sum from their Sussex Royal Instagram account.

The profile, which boasts 11.2 million followers, is currently used to promote their various charity work and updates on the family.

However it is not known yet known what they plan to change the profile’s name to, following the announcement that they will cease to use the word ‘royal’ in their branding, amid their move to Canada.

Analytics platform Inzpire Me told The Sun the couple could earn in £85,271.19 per post, following the boost to their following in the last month.

After their announcement that they would be stepping down as senior royals, their following swiftly overtook that of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Instagram account, growing by 9.7 per cent.

And despite the Kensington Royal Instagram account now catching up with their followers, the company report that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge only hold half the Sussexes’ earning power at £40,744.97.

The couple have reportedly spent thousands of pounds trademarking the brand Sussex Royal.

But over the weekend Harry and Meghan revealed they will stop using the ‘SussexRoyal’ brand after they step back from royal duties.
