As is the case every year, WhatsApp has decided to reduce the number of devices it supports. As the year 2022 draws to a close, WhatsApp has announced that devices will no longer be able to use the social media app after December 31.
The fact that WhatsApp is dropping support for some older versions of iOS and Android shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Eventually, WhatsApp’s service will be discontinued for the aforementioned devices, and no more upgrades or features will be available.
List of phones that won’t work anymore
As of December 31st, WhatsApp will no longer be compatible with 49 smartphone models from Samsung, Apple, and Sony.
